The diamond of the Indian Ocean

the STORY

At the heart of this story is the indomitable spirit of the Cullinan Diamond, the greatest jewel ever discovered in South Africa. A gem so resplendent that it was meticulously cut into nine diamonds, seven of which now adorn the British Royal Crown.

Cullinan Rum is a testament to this extraordinary legacy. It is that of a premium rum brand inspired by the Indian Ocean and the purity of the Cullinan diamond.

the great star

The Cullinan diamond was discovered on Thomas Cullinan mine on 26 January 1905. The 3,106 carats (621.20 g) colourless stone was purchased by the Transvaal government and given as a birthday present to the reigning British monarch, King Edward VII.

Each edition of Cullinan Rum is inspired by the legendary Cullinan diamonds.

From Cullinan I to Cullinan VII, each diamond signifies a unique blend of our rum, symbolising luxury, elegance, and refined craftsmanship.

Cullinan I
Known as the Great Star of Africa, this exceptional pear-shaped diamond weighs 530.20 carats, making it the largest cut diamond in the world. Set in the British Royal Sceptre, this stone symbolizes the power and wealth of the monarchy. The sceptre, part of the Crown Jewels, is displayed at the Tower of London, where it attracts millions of visitors each year.
Cullinan II
This 317.40-carat diamond, cut into a cushion shape, is often referred to as the Second Star of Africa. It is mounted on the Imperial State Crown, worn by British monarchs during official ceremonies, such as coronations. The crown itself is adorned with over 2,800 diamonds and is a central symbol of the British monarchy.
Cullinan III
This pear-shaped diamond weighs 94.40 carats. It has been set together with Cullinan IV to create a remarkable brooch. Cullinan III can also be worn separately as a pendant. This piece was worn by Queen Mary and is considered an invaluable treasure, often showcased during significant ceremonies.
Cullinan IV
A cushion-cut diamond weighing 63.60 carats, Cullinan IV is paired with Cullinan III to form an exquisite brooch. Like Cullinan III, it can be worn separately. This brooch was favored by Queen Mary and is a notable piece used in various important events.
Cullinan V
This 18.80-carat diamond, cut in a triangular pear shape, now replaces the famous Koh-i-Noor in Queen Mary’s crown, adding a modern touch to this historic piece. The Cullinan V is also mounted on a brooch that was one of Queen Mary’s favorite pieces of jewelry.
Cullinan VI
Weighing 11.5 carats and cut in a rod shape, the Cullinan VI was a gift from King Edward VII to his wife, Queen Alexandra. This gift symbolized the king’s love and devotion. The diamond is often associated with the diamond brooch worn by the queen at royal events.
Cullinan VII
This 8.80-carat diamond, cut in a marquise shape, is set in a brooch. It is suspended as a pendant, alongside Cullinan VIII, demonstrating the exceptional craftsmanship of the royal jewelers.
